As two new wineries prepare to open this fall, helping to build critical mass in establishing Loudoun as one of the state’s premiere Wine Country regions, the local wine industry has come a long way since Lew Parker’s first attempt in 1980 to plant grapes on his 30-acre Willowcroft Farm in Leesburg.
